Hare-hi (or beautiful sunshine day) fountain pen was made under the concept of Japanese summer festival
(gala). The skillful urushi craftsmen created the design depicting the summer festival held in a happy and
radiant sunny day. The “ Waki-en (or harmonious gala) ” showing the festival warmed up by close people,
“Yoi -enbu (or dance in front of f lame at night ) depicting a flickering flame to expect you excited festival),
“Kinka-setsu” presenting the energy came from the gala reaching climax, “Tai ka seki (or big firework like
flower”) showing the trace of the firework in the sky and “Sei-yo-wa (or silent night)” depicting the tranquility
of the night after the enthusiastic festival. These five designs package the typical summer parties in Japan.
